The Certificate of Entitlement (V750)
This certificate is similar to the V778 retention document , the major difference being that the registration number would never have previously been issued to a vehicle. These run for 12 months just like the V778 and are renewable at a cost of £25 p.a. Instead of a "Grantee" as on the V778 you have a "Purchaser" who has rights to assign , renew and change nominee etc as per the V778.
The nominee has no rights save being able to assign the number to a car in his/her name if named on the V778.Once again it is not possible to assign a registration number from a V750 to a N.Ireland registered vehicle. There would need to be a double transfer , first to a mainland registered vehicle and then a vehicle to vehicle transfer to N.Ireland using a V317.Interestingly N.Ireland has its own V750 ( V750 N.I. )for previously unissued registration numbers and in the same way ,these V750NI certificates cannot be used to assign the number to a vehicle registered in the mainland , if this is required , the number must first go onto a N.Ireland registered vehicle and then a vehicle to vehicle transfer across to the mainland registered car or bike.
